Trees

This week I plucked up the courage to finish a piece of machine embroidery that I started on a day workshop wit Wendy Dolan last year.
There are things that could have been better, but overall I am very pleased with it for a first attempt.
I now need to have another go while it is fresh in my mind.

My 7 year old grandduaghter has the crafting bug too. Here are her paper sculptures, a slide and a roundabout, that she made this morning.

I think that a swing was planned next, but the time ran out.

Bible Cover

This week I've made a cover for my new journalling Bible. I had a lovely fat quarter which I wanted to use for something special, so this was the perfect project for it.

I made a zipped pocket on the front to store my coloured pencils so that they are always with the Bible. I've even managed to pluck up the courage to colour one of the pictures.

Sparkly Socks!

Sparkly socks this week, and, I feel, many more to come. I got the yarn at a bargain price. I thought the balls looked smaller than the yarn I usually buy, so I bought two balls for each pair just to be on the safe side, enough for four pairs. I easily got a pair from one ball, so that means seven left! They may not all become socks though.

Anyway, I'm very pleased with these
I can't believe how well they've matched.

Also, not my crafting but I just have to show off the amazing cake my eldest daughter made for her sister's birthday. It is all edible including the shells and the sea glass.

There was delicious carrot cake inside too.

I'll have to post some of the incredible cakes she has made for me and my grandchildren at some point.

Mystery socks

This week I finished a pair of Mystery Knit-a-long socks. The theme was Lord of the Rings, and each of the four clues (released each Monday for four weeks)
was named after one of the four Hobbits.

Pippin
 Sam
Merry

and Frodo
The yarn was a very hard colour to capture and is probably somewhere between the last two photos.
Really pleased with how they turned our, and they are comfy too. I hope to do some more MKALs in the future, I like surprises.
In the meantime I seem to be on a sock kick as immediately after finishing I cast on a new pair. They may be done for next weeks post!
