Masquerade

My sister is turning 50 and is having a masquerade ball themed party. So I've made my mask
and jolly pleased with it I am too, (of course, it had to be peacock themed).
I have glassed that have magnets for attaching sunglasses, so I have made the mask magnettically attach to my glasses. I wasn't sure how successful it would be but it has worked really well. I see endless possibilities for future embelishments here.

Also, last weeks teddy has a friend

Trauma Teddy

My daughter and her friend do a lot of work raising money and gathering supplies for a charity providing aid for Syrian refugees. One of the things they have been asked to provide is trauma teddies for the refugee children, so I've got my needles going and here is my first teddy. Hopefully, he wil have several companions in the next couple of weeks, (the second is just waiting for his arms).

The charity is Samara's Aid Appeal.

The teddies are very easy to knit. Here is the Ravelry page for the pattern. Many different charities and organisations take these teddies to provide comfort to children in times or crisis.

Tree Socks

New socks for my No2 Son-in-law.
He complained to his wife that he married her for a new pair of hand-knitted socks a year, and he'd only had one pair. They've been married 9 years and he is still wearing the ones I knitted for him in 2011 so I thought it was high time he had a new pair.

They have been much less troublesome than last weeks sparkly socks, even though I had to adapt the pattern from a medium ladies pair to a man's pair.

Will he get a new pair next year? Watch this space!

At last!

Oops, forgot to post on Sunday as we had just got back from a holiday.
Finally the sparkly socks are finished!

Once again they have matched up very well. Sarah will have to wear matching socks for once in her life. I don't think I'll use this pattern again though.
