Crumpet - again!!

Crumpet because the pattern name is crumpet! I knit one as a present for my sister-in-law and she loved it so much this is the 8th one I have made her! With the four others I have made this is the 12th in total.
You would think that by now I would be able to get it right but NO! I was just started the ribbing and noticed that I had missed an increase some way back and I had to rip out half the hat.
It is actually a nice straightforward pattern with a nice result.
Here is a link to the Ravelry page for the pattern. I usually work it on five dpns, one for each section, with a sixth to work on to. It makes it easy for the chart repeats.
And now I want hot crumpets with butter, but it is bed time so I'd better not :-(

Happy Easter!

Hallelujah! He is risen!

Lots of frogging this week, but I have managed to finish these mitts for my daughter.

I've combined two patterns, I found a lovely pattern for a cowl with Narwhals on, and my daughter loves narwhals, but I knew she wasn't likely to wear a cowl, so I found a pattern for some fingerless mitts and substituted the narwhal for the image on the mitts. This was the cause for one of the visits to the frog pond. I managed to miss the bottom line of the chart I had hand-drawn for the back of the right mitt and mark off row two on the back chart, but row one on the palm chart, so consequently half way up I realised the back and the palm werent lining up, so I had to undo about 20 rows.
I'm really pleased with the way they have come out.

The second trip to the frog pond was a hat I'm knitting for my sister-in-law. I got nearly to the end and realised I had missed an increase about 20 rows back - so that is in time-out. You'd think I could get this right as it's the twelfth time I've knit this hat pattern but no...

Also, following last weeks practice run, here are the real choux bunnies
Some of them are a bit franken-bunny, with enormous tails. I don't think I will be on Great British Bakeoff any time soon. My 8 year old grandson thought they were fish with very large eyes. They tasted yummy though.

Choux Bunnies

This wweks effort is a cooking one. (A couple of knitting projects nearly made it but didn't quite reach completion, so next week may be a bumper crop)

My first attempt at choux pastry - it's not nearly as scary as they'd have you believe. I had the idea of choux bunnies for Easter tea, but  thought I ought to practice first. I'm quite chuffed with the results. Next weex they may get chocolate too!

Project Dragon Complete!

Well, Project Dragon is finally done and they are all happily residing with their new owners.

Doing backstitch with tinsel yarn is NOT to be recommended as a relaxing pastime.

Also this week my Husband and I (that sounds very regal doesn't it) had the second day of a two day pyrography course. The course was a bit disappointing for me as I was hoping to learn some new techniques, but it was so basic that even if you have just dabbled with your husband's second best soldering iron you were in advance of the tutor who had only done a couple of practice pieces before the first lesson. Still it was nice to do it with Brian, and also to see that the hobbycraft pyrography tool I had which went bang (literally) the first time I used it was probably a freak dud as there were 10 available on the course and none of them blew up during the two days. Bodes well for my replacemnt one which I haven't opened yet.

Very pleased with the results of our efforts.

I love Brian's badger, all these years and I didn't know he was so artistic!
